About Us
Minneapolis Rodeo is a one day PRCA Pro Rodeo and music festival held at Surly Brewing Co., on their Festival Field grounds in the heart of Minneapolis. It brings real rodeo competition, live music, and western culture into the city, creating something that feels both rooted and current.
At the core is a PRCA sanctioned pro rodeo, featuring professional cowboys and cowgirls competing across eight classic events. Riders earn prize money and points toward qualification for the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Events include Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Barrel Racing, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Tie Down Roping, and Breakaway Roping. This is the highest level of the sport, run by official rules, real scoring, and athletes on the national circuit.
When the rodeo wraps, the arena becomes the mainstage pit. The festival continues with live music across a main stage and a side stage running all day, featuring national acts alongside regional and local artists. Watch from the dirt, step back into the bar, or move through the grounds as the night builds.

Health and safety are a top priority at Minneapolis Rodeo. We work closely with local law enforcement, emergency services, city officials, and public safety partners to help ensure a safe environment for everyone on site.
Upon arrival, all guests, staff, and performers will go through security screening, including ID checks and bag checks conducted by our security team.
Security screenings take place at festival entry. We recommend arriving early and reviewing the Prohibited Items list in advance to avoid delays. Prohibited items will not be allowed inside and must be returned to your vehicle or disposed of before entry.
In the event of an emergency, important information will be communicated over the audio system and through on site staff.
If you or someone near you needs medical assistance, please locate the nearest medical tent or notify a staff member, security officer, or EMS immediately.
And finally, if you see something that does not feel right, say something. Flag down any event staff or safety official so we can address it quickly.

Animals are at the center of the sport. Hosting a PRCA pro rodeo means treating these animals as our own and thats why the PRCA has more than 60 rules to ensure proper care and treatment of rodeo animals, all of which are included in its official rules and regulations. While too numerous to list here, you can visit the PRCA website to learn about animal welfare and safety: https://www.prorodeo.com/
