FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Gates open at 12 PM. We recommend families arrive right at opening to enjoy the grounds, rodeo events, and daytime programming at a relaxed pace. General admission guests are encouraged to arrive around 2 PM as the day builds toward the evening.

    Please note that re entry is not allowed. Once you exit the grounds, you will not be able to re enter, so plan accordingly.

    Entry and exit points will be clearly marked and staffed throughout the day.

  • Surly Festival Grounds are located at 520 Malcolm Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414, just minutes from downtown and the University of Minnesota. The site is easy to reach by car, transit, bike, or rideshare.

    Limited parking is available in the surrounding area, with additional paid parking options nearby. Street parking is available where posted, and rideshare drop off and pick up zones will be clearly marked near the entrance. Arriving early is recommended.

    Public transit options include nearby Metro Transit bus routes and light rail stops, all within walking distance of the grounds. Biking and walking are also encouraged, with bike racks available on the Surly Brewing campus.

    Plan ahead and give yourself extra time to arrive, grab a drink, and get settled before the rodeo begins. Once you’re in, everything happens in one place.

  • There are no age restrictions to this event. Those who are 21+ will have their ID checked and given a wristband to purchase alcohol.

    Those 4 and under are admitted free in GA areas.

  • All ticket sales are final. No refunds, exchanges, or cancellations will be issued for any reason, including but not limited to weather, artist lineup changes, scheduling adjustments, or personal circumstances.

    The event will take place rain or shine.

    Tickets are non transferable unless explicitly stated by the ticketing provider. Lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced.

    All merchandise sales are final. Exchanges may be considered for sizing or defects at the time of purchase only, subject to availability. Once you leave the grounds, no returns or exchanges will be accepted.

  • The following items are not permitted inside the event grounds:

    • Weapons of any kind, including firearms, knives, pepper spray, or any item that could be used to cause harm

    • Illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia

    • Outside alcohol

    • Glass containers, metal cans, or hard sided coolers

    • Large bags or backpacks exceeding 12” x 6” x 12”

    • Outside food or beverages

      • Exceptions may be made for documented medical needs or infant care

    • Professional cameras or recording equipment, including

      • Cameras with detachable lenses

      • GoPros

      • Drones

      • Tripods

      • Selfie sticks

      • Audio or video recording devices

    • Laser pointers, fireworks, or explosives

    • Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, hoverboards, or similar devices

    • Umbrellas, tents, or shade structures

    • Animals, except ADA recognized service animals

    • Flyers, posters, or promotional materials unless pre approved by event organizers

    All bags are subject to search. Prohibited items must be returned to your vehicle or discarded. Items will not be stored by event staff.

    Local laws, venue rules, and municipal regulations may impose additional restrictions.
